
The Punjab Chief Minister recently inaugurated a Rs 2.2-crore low-cost housing project named as Guru Nanak Dev Nagar, at Gaggar village in Muktsar district of the state. The project, which is the first of its kind in the state, has been developed in collaboration with Ambuja Cement Foundation, is stretching across seven acres with all civil amenities and is meant for the homeless scheduled castes and backward class stratas of the society.
Lauding the efforts of the Chairman of the Ambuja Cement Foundation, Suresh Neotia, for the philanthropic venture, he said that after the successful completion of the housing project for the weaker sections of the society several companies of national repute have evinced keen interest to join hands with the state government for such housing projects to accommodate deserving masses.
